Join South Washoe DEMS for a Social Soiree and a 2023 NV Legislative Session review with Natha Anderson. We will also be introduced to the new WashoeDEMS First Vice Chair, Tim Hanifan. We meet in person at the South Valleys Library at 15650-A Wedge Parkway. The Social Soiree starts at 5:30 PM. The programs starts at 6:00 PM and will conclude no later than 7:30 PM.
Speaker Line-Up:
Assemblywoman Natha Anderson was elected in 2020 and represents Assembly District 30. She has been a passionate and dedicated educator for over 25 years. Natha is a member of the Ways and Means, Revenue, Natural Resources, and Education Assembly Committees. She has proudly supported bills such as SB 420, which provides an affordable public health insurance option for Nevada families and expands Medicaid for pregnant woman as well as AB 495, which would impose a 1% excise tax on mining revenue in the state and would be reinvested into Nevada schools. She is also a Sparks native and an obsessive reader. Natha will share an overview of the recently completed 2023 legislative session.
Tim Hanifan, the First Vice Chair of the WashoeDEMS, will speak about his position in the organization and how he is working to assist all of the affiliate DEM groups in Washoe County.
