Nevada State Assembly District 24 Primary Preview!
Please join us for our February meeting at the South Valleys Library when we will welcome all three prospective Democratic candidates running to fill the seat for Nevada State Assembly District 24 which will be vacated by Assembly Member Sarah Peters. The majority of Reno is found within AD 24, and it is crucial that Democrats retain this seat. The candidates that we will hear from are Ben Barteau, Kurt Thigpen, and Erica Roth. The election will be in the June 2024.
Mr Barteau is a self-employed accounting consultant and liberal environmentalist who is passionate about education and reproductive freedom.
Mr. Thigpen, the CEO of the social impact marketing and design agency Ace Studios and former Washoe County School Board Trustee is looking to get back into political office with this election.
Ms. Roth is a civil rights attorney and community advocate that fights for reproductive freedom, criminal justice reform, and environmental justice.
We will learn more about who these candidates are and why they are passionate about running for AD 24. They will also tell us how we can get involved in their campaigns.
Please join us at 5:30 p.m. on February 12th for social time and Valentine’s Day-themed refreshments. The meeting portion of our program will begin at 6 p.m. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with us and come dressed in festive attire of pink, red, heart-themed, love-themed, etc…
